On June 15, 2025, a few days before the Paris Air Show, Eric Trappier , Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation , held a press conference to clarify the accusations made by the Pakistani military. According to a statement released two weeks earlier by Rawalpindi, three Indian Dassault Rafales were reportedly shot down during Operation Sindoor , a series of reported aerial engagements over Kashmir the previous month. This claim, widely relayed by some regional media and digital propaganda channels, was quickly contested by New Delhi, and then by Dassault itself.

Eric Trappier called these allegations "inaccurate and unfounded ," recalling that no Indian Rafale fighter jets were lost in combat during this operation. He did, however, admit the loss of one aircraft , without enemy contact, in connection with a technical failure at high altitude, now under investigation. This positioning aims to contain speculation, while maintaining the operational image of the Rafale, engaged in several areas of tension since its introduction in India in 2020.
