A piece of Turkish music from an old tv series
As the music goes, some of my memories flow in.

That's quite a TV show. I saw half an episode for a bit. Seeing how Turkey was back then I wonder how everything ends up where it is now.
Reminds me of The Bund by TVB. Both are epic story set in an epic era. (then seeing how Shanghai was, people would wonder too)
That's another overly memorable piece.
Many years ago there was a classmate, who was very young and naive. Being a boy of course he didn't want to be left behind by the older peers in school and he kept begging me for an epic movie. So I gave him DVD of Once Upon a Time in America.
The naivety of 14yo boy from countryside doesn't go smoothly with something like this. He was stunned, completely, the second day. (I kind of agree, rape scenes were too much. but it is only a fraction of the drama)
I think the soundtrack of Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki is excellent. Did you watch this tv show growing up?

being young doesn't necessarily bar the person from understanding.
even sex. those who are young may not have the desire, but there is enough brainpower to comprehend what is right and wrong, what is lust and what is arrogance, and how power, greed intertwines sometimes.
the principles remain faithful to humanity, as always, the good and the bad.
oh wait, but you have the cute and innocent facade to pretend not knowing, so you can observe everything with very little consequences (◕ㅅ◕✿)
you lose the privilege later on and have to face it.

Oh I notice something, they chose a Dutch character as the villain, so that means by the time I watched it the tight tie between the Netherlands and Turkey had been formed. And it'd been natural for people to interact with each other from both countries.

Yes, many mediterranean areas have tight ties with Great sea powers,
So Greek and Netherlands, Turkey and Netherlands, or Lebanon with the US.
Culturally connected by sea power is something I have accidentally overlooked for years until more recently.
