【大紀元2020年01月27日訊】週日（1月26日），洛杉磯縣一架直升機撞到到馬里布（Malibu）附近的山坡上時，導致五人喪生。《洛杉磯時報》在其推特上發布消息說，NBA著名球星科比·布萊恩特（Kobe Bryant）在墜機事件中遇難。
洛杉磯縣治安部門表示無人生還，調查仍在繼續。
直升機在當地時間週日上午10點左右墜毀，地點在卡拉巴薩斯（Calabasas），這座小城位於洛杉磯市中心西北30英里處聖莫尼卡山脈地區。 洛杉磯縣消防局派遣主管阿特·馬魯霍（Art Marrujo）說，消防員對大約一英畝灌木叢迅速進行滅火。
TMZ Sports率先報導了科比死於這起飛機失事的消息。 ESPN和ABC洛杉磯分台之後證實了科比去世的報導。
隨後《洛杉磯時報》也在其推特上發布消息說，科比死於這起飛機失事。
美國聯邦航空管理局（FAA）告訴福克斯新聞，這架西科斯基S-76直升機在「未知情況」下墜毀。FAA說，據地方當局告知，當時機上有5人。
