You won't believe this, I went outside to touch some grass just now, and I met several Iranian dudes down the hood, they thought I was Russian when they heard my name, which ain't no Russian at all. After explanation, they just got more baffled and thought I was a regular American kid who was into history too deep and wanted to be Ottoman-Turkish. "No, Yankee boy, you gotta be Persian if you want to be part of the Middle East." That's what they said, like, dawg😭, did I just turn Persian all of a sudden?
I think your story is more complicated and will puzzle those people with ordinary knowledge even more.
