如果北约内部两国交兵会发生什么？
之前墙内文章说苏联其实申请过加入北约，但是被拒绝了。然后下面评论就说苏联加入了也没用，因为民主国家会再弄一个军事同盟，然后苏联自己也不得不再弄一个，这样北约这个大联盟内部会套两个小联盟，导致北约被废掉。照这么说，北约内斗，北约是不是不会集体管？比如说现在英国和法国打仗，北约会不会坐视不管，但是如果这个时候俄罗斯这个非北约成员趁虚而入，英法会暂时搁置矛盾，一致对外？
如果真的发生了英法战争，不可能像我说的这么简单，但是理论上会怎么样呢？假设到时候北约没有被废掉

因为规定集体防卫机制的第五条"The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all..."没有指明发动武装攻击的一方必须是非北约国家才能触发集体防卫，所以发动侵略的北约国家也在此条管辖之下。一旦可以确定一方是主动攻击者，其余国家有义务协助受攻击国家的自卫。
假如确定不了哪边主动攻击，情况就比较麻烦。这时第八条可能会被用到: "Each Party declares that none of the international engagements now in force between it and any other of the Parties or any third State is in conflict with the provisions of this Treaty, and undertakes not to enter into any international engagement in conflict with this Treaty." 这一条似乎表示和北约盟国作战就是违约。根据这一条，不排除两边都受惩戒的情况，但具体惩罚措施没有言明。
