prince作为领主的头衔的时候不翻译为王子，翻译为亲王， 现在的一个典型亲王国就是法国下面的摩纳哥。
所以马基雅维利时候用这个头衔描述君王，因为意大利诸城邦规模都小，领主达不到国王的级别，所以prince就是这些中小型国家的老大。
