众所周知，在49年之后，由于中共强烈的文化管制，共产中国的音乐发生了停滞甚至倒退。在80年代，共产中国开始和自由世界进行接触。本书就是在那个年代成书的。
共匪口口声声说着要“为人类、艺术的进步、发展”作出贡献，却把港台流行音乐、民谣、爵士乐和摇滚乐说得一文不值。可是，在言论管控下，他们又产出了什么？
私以为，音乐本身的自由性，使其成为了抵抗暴政的一把利剑。我们绝对不能把这把利剑白白交到共产党手里！
