新泽西的生活开始了！
我拜访了离我家10公里外的一家书店，买了一包橙汁，并让店员给我一个玻璃杯来装里面倒出来的东西，这还不够，我买了一份用纸杯装着的咖啡，就像星巴克那样。
我看的书是一本关于艺术鉴赏的，详尽地展示了所有从19世纪后期到今天的绘画流派和思想。
“我的生活里有艺术，那么它会在哪里？”
2小时后，我开始看不进这本书，注意力涣散，转而思考这一问题。看了看桌子上摆的塑料橙汁包装瓶、盛有还没喝完的橙汁的玻璃杯、咖啡纸杯和书，它们构成了一个想象中的长方形的四个顶点，就这样宁静地被放置在那里。我感觉到了一种美，深究起来它是由反差带来的。
橙汁包装是黑色的，在仅有的四个小东西中显得格格不入——咖啡纸杯象征着都市中的闲暇，中产阶级赖以炫耀和让更穷的人追求的“生活自由”，背后站着的是资本主义的贪婪，用好听的话说，人类进步的盼望；玻璃杯里盛着一整罐的生命力，它从春天而来，也从植物本身而来；而那本书更不用说了，看着它的封面都能感受到艺术有某种蔓延到四周的无形的存在形式——但是黑色，它代表什么？
黑色让我想到一些负面的东西，绝望、死亡还有一种我无法用言语表达的感觉。
我思考这种感觉到底是什么，并寻找线索，“希望的反义词是绝望，生命的反义词是死亡，见鬼，艺术的反义词是什么？......等等，艺术是什么？”这样思考了很久。
突然，我发现，前文提到的视觉上的反差美和当前的思考给我一种不错的体验，我敢确定，艺术就在这里！而且假如没有关于那象征着反面的黑色包装瓶的思考，我绝体会不到这种艺术。
下意识之间，我拿起黑色包装往玻璃杯里一倒，黄色的生命进入了杯中。
我懂了，艺术的反义词就是沉闷，面对丑陋的世界，无法再问艺术在哪里。艺术就是自由，面对再令人窒息的沉闷，也将要冲破它！

我的家后院的下坡路有几十棵来檬树，还有一些灌木丛，在下坡方向右手侧上有一个长椅，背后则是一块墓地，和一些墓地上腐烂和孤独的花；左手侧是我和最近的几户人家的房子。沿着下坡路走个一两百米，则有另外一栋房子，它是Emmiline曾经的家庭的，但如今他们一家搬走了，杳无音讯。
那里静悄悄的，也许很久已经没人来了，我很犹豫要不要下坡去看看。
走向前去，我扫描了一下房子的台阶和栏杆，还有门前的用白漆刷过的木头柱子，发现没有蜘蛛网。

我在医院里躺了7天，这是因为有一个房子的入侵者在半夜爬到了我的窗边，我很快捡起了枪，ta用某种金属制品敲伤了我的腿和肩膀，但我及时开枪驱赶了入侵者。
当时房间的灯没开，我无法记住任何有效信息关于入侵者，除了ta大概190cm高，并且头的轮廓不正常，像一只狐狸或类似的东西，我怀疑这是一位《玩具熊的五夜后宫》的爱好者带了头套。
911给了我没有帮助，但帮忙叫了救护车。

邻居家仍未从他们的狗之死走出来，沉浸在悲痛之中。

在强权面前，就像是David and Goliath的故事一样...

I am not sure why the little fish happens to be in the national colour of Ukraine. Maybe it is an coincidence, or maybe it is intentional. The answer cannot be found anymore,
in the eyes of today, it might be apparent the Sturgeon can be viewed as the aggressor, either the country specifically, in this instance, Russia, or the aggressive imperialist principals. the small and weak needs to be rescued, just like what Krtek did
But should sturgeon be destroyed? Or cooked for food since he wanted to eat the small adorable fish for food? Certainly not, sturgeon has its place in the river. Krtek captured the mean sturgeon and put him downstream instead, in a world perhaps he belongs to, just like how sturgeon is an endangered specie, a fabric of epoch from million years ago themselves these days. Isn't this similar to Russia as a country as well? It has the relics from near extinction, the good and the bad.
In terms of the international relationship these days, however, it appears the US is only interested in attrition and Russia only wants revenge. What if the potential (exploring the space, exploring human beings, exploring the humanity... we know such capacities have existed for century or so) of either side is used for better good?
But given how human is, if the potential of Russia is utilized with capacity of the US, inevitably it will fall into the wrong hands and no one is strong enough to balance. The world will plunge into another dark age... I guess that’s why China has better to stay as enemies so is Russia, with nations divided.
It takes someone sincerely loving to destroy effectively... either a pretty boy or a country.
I wish the dynamics of international politics have the wisdom of krtek finding a constructive co-existence, reflecting on ourselves, and respect to the nature. Instead, we cooked sturgeon for food, slaughtering for revenge and strangling as national policy. In return, agitated sentiment is unleashed in an endless circle of revenge. I’m resentful about the US standing on the wrong side of history during 1993 congress crisis of Russia. Boris Yeltsin dismantled the last institutional mechanism of the country paving the way for Putin to be a dictator. But that mechanism was the supreme soviet and how could any US politician stand by them in 1993? So they stood by so called reformist Yeltsin enabling the breeding ground of authoritarian strongman into the new century

I guess the point of no return has been passed. It is too late to reverse the course. (That point should be 2008) But too much time is wasted on meaningless terrorism... Terrorism isn't going to change the equilibrium of the world structure. It is merely some noise, and at the same time, no attention was paid to countries deserving it.
Today is only early enough to prevent nuclear war, and very little choice is left for other alternatives.
Current scenario is more of a disaster containment mode than anywhere being constructive

I am afraid the baseline is all the way off these days. Peace needs to be preserved, just like it takes two persons to dance, peace can only be achieved from both side. I am afraid neither side is wise enough to achieve this anymore.
And Putin appears to be rather restrained compare to many other more extreme alternatives these days... I don't know where this is heading towards. I feel the hope is lost for a better world.

That's horrible, but I guess things will go another way after this decade.
Because Russia's new democratic regime(if there will be such thing) will get closer to the EU, because its young people prefer European style of life and liberal ideology to American things including conservatism, and a Greater Europe will come into being.
On the other hand, we will have the US, Japan and India, and maybe democratic China to form an Ocean Community, and balance it all with their conservative ideology.
And we're going into Cold War II, making earth a place just like America in 2020 presidential election.
In the end, the fish gave Krtek a shining pearl in return, the most valuable thing to the little fish perhaps.

I guess, it is the potential of the future, the future of the country: their children. And plenty of them are heading towards supposedly safer havens elsewhere outside of Ukraine.
From a legislative standpoint, many other governments are stepping in providing generous support, but in reality, children of Ukraine are scattering all over the world as refugees, very often selling their bodies for the dimes out of desperation to feed themselves, or their moms, or merely to stay wherever they are, out of fears from unknowns. I guess you have seen one at least, Vlad(if not counting Art Bezrukavenko), and I have seen many others, even on the street. How did they turn out to be like this? I don't know. Seeing the future being disposed like this is as if using pearls for road pavement, it is despicably disgraceful... disgraceful to the heroic souls within, if they still retain them.

Ukraine shows how strong its math is by sending Maryna to the west, and its contemporary art chills if you're an insider of this field you'll see it, maybe it's under Polish influence though.

Democratic regime existed in Russia, for a few months. It was too indecisive and by the time decision was made, the coup had occurred and all hope had been lost.
Young people preferring certain lifestyle is merely a facade. It is the decision process, characters that matter. I don't see those certain enough to weather the storm. (I guess a stripper in a Cadillac Brougham was closer to American things than America itself. Little kids trying out sex toys was more boundaryless than most eras ever existing in the US or most of W Europe, maybe except Sweden, Finland, Netherlands or Belgium occasionally. After all that, Belgium is still Belgium as we know, and Russia embraced conservatism instead) I am afraid the wrong conclusion was drawn from the process of exploration.

Ukraine is definitely a country with much potential.
As a math teacher I'm required to read many essays and attend conferences occasionally, and I guarantee, Ukrainian math society is never ignorable but in fact very strong, under the context of 21th century's new fields of research even more significant than Japan.

Maryna is the equivalence of Silovik, merely in a different nation. (similarly, such people exist in Belarus and Kazakhstan also) and of course, they can fall on the wrong side, sometimes overly easily.
Half of the Ukrainian art is Polish Lithuanian commonwealth type, another half is Russian. I am aware of this. (I have some connections on this.... but since those two persons live in Crimea, I never want to ask if they are Ukrainian or Russian)
It is a dilemma about the white-blue-white flag. Tri-colour flag was the symbol of pan-Slavism and abandoning this may cause adverse effects: collapsing of national identities of Czech, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and so on... It is on the blink of collapse already with the current situation. But tri-colour is closely associated with chauvinism and imperial expansionism, I don't know where the compromise is.

Why do you say Maryna is like Silovik? Is it because she talked about how war destroyed her homeland and interrupted math research on the ceremony of Fields Prize awarding?

There is a darker side of this. Certain extremists existed in the years not so long ago in the mathematics fields, both from Ukraine and Russia, exercising extreme pressure to the children from parents for the academic achievements.
The pressure was so tremendous that the physical scars were mistaken as sexual torture on a teenage girl by the welfare officers in the US, only for them to find out later, all that was for pushing her to study harder. Of course, they were startled by the discovery.
But would they achieve this much without so much pressure? Perhaps not.
I see it as a trade with demon. Parents and children, can trade their sexuality and individualism for an extreme achievement academically. The strong sexual desire, sexual tension, as if an amount of burning fuel, can be deprived and used to fuel intelligence instead, something mentioned as early as in the books by John Money. Certainly I am the type of person horrified by this approach, but it seems to be a tempting choice for many others, and they have chosen so accordingly. It is an exchange I will never dare to get even close, because I believe in humanity more.

Oh, I don't mean Silovik in a positive or a negative way. It is merely a class of people with outstanding qualities in intelligence or emotions, or maybe both, from many reasons (often partially due to the family background, like elite scientists, or engineers)
Silovik has similarities to the Oligarchy, both are powerful and influential. I think the fundamental difference is, however, the intelligence. There are plenty of really dumb oligarchs, most notable example might include Nikita Mazepin. Silovik membership would be disqualified due to the incompetency in brain power, I am afraid.
Such class doesn't quite exist elsewhere. Even though there is such a class as social elite in the UK or the US, I think the concentration of the quality is too subpar and mediocre, leading to the examples such as George W Bush. (with his skills, he wouldn't even make the entry exams among Siloviks maybe even in elementary schools)
But such a quality is very powerful and it has to be used wisely. If it is applied on the wrong side, consequence can be disastrous. It has the potential of being the elite evil, quite regretfully.

It is nowhere close to scandals. There was no such centralized organizational operation to torture children for academics, at least in mathematics to my awareness. It was merely isolated incident as I have seen in the past and quite a few happened to be from those areas.
Instead, they just pushed the kids too harshly for the grades, in a sense. Sometimes, too harsh to be comprehensible to usual minds (and only those from the region or similarly pressure cooker environments can understand) Reviewing them together, collectively, you might have the conclusion that in certain cultural backgrounds, it was understandable to treat children harshly for this purpose, as if the academic achievements can justify the brutality.
But I see this as the symbols of the fundamental structure problems: in an environment under tight control, unchecked power, ultra competition and lack of transparency, such events are unfortunately inevitable, as long as enough time has elapsed.
Yet, I do recall an example with name in another field suffering from sexual tortures, but this time, I don't believe it was exercised for higher academic achievement, it was merely the byproduct of unchallenged power. But of course, you might only see two sentences about this when you read about Sparrow from Minsk.
Victims tend to be nameless in situations like this, and it takes an Olympic medalist to voice over this, albeit, very briefly.
Nevertheless, in a bigger context, the sexual suffering seemed to be only a fraction of the overall heinous experience: she risked her life for the gymnast career. Her style was so risky that no sane person would practice even close to that elsewhere, and it was forbidden due to the concern of life risking injuries.

东欧的高材生很多是变态方法——不是通俗理解的魔鬼训练——训练出来的，这让我很震惊....
别说是变态方法了，那边整体一度都是这样，命是不要的，要的是成就和东西。以前还有被当反革命抓了的飞机工程师，要被枪毙，但是贝利亚叫他造俯冲轰炸机，造出来就放了。后来那位造出来了，还拿了列宁勋章，但是他在发觉那个飞机有质量隐患想向高层汇报的时候，飞机起飞发动机故障坠毁死了。
苏联解体后这种情况有了大幅改善。我觉得宁可没有这样的成绩也不要如此遭罪
蘇聯笑話一則：同志們，不能再這麽搞了，飛機質量這麽差，會墜毀的！
在我们看来，有的学习方法和工作压力变态至极，但是从历史宏观角度来看，这已经仁慈开恩了许许多多：你看，都不用担心被枪毙，抓古拉格了！多轻松人道啊！

从早上的提到的暴力虐待提高成绩，到下午发现无时不刻糟糕多的发型，再到晚上连脱掉衣服只穿个裤子都有极大差距的审美和气质，
东方这么几千年都在干什么呢？
我几个月前还提到一个巨为低劣的一种情况：
和某些德国家长喜欢换着花样打屁股性虐子女（比如说只穿内裤，不穿裤子只穿上衣等等组合）不同，东方某些国家，主要是中国为主，但是俄国我也听闻过，那就是某些家长体罚儿女的时候会叫儿女把衣服完全脱光，包括把内裤也脱了，这并不是羞辱或者满足性癖好，那些家长只是舍不得把衣服打坏了而已... 不舍得把要穿出去见人的衣服打皱了，打破了，穿在身上不出去见人的内裤，也舍不得打坏，心疼衣服，不舍得衣服的钱。
这种心态，体现在日常穿衣上就是，明明衣服都很不怎么样，但是要买一个“假领子”扣在脖子上显得好看正式
（中国50-80年代早期常见，这是我能找到的图片了）你看，领子和衣服明显不是一个整体，如此的生硬
啊，这位怎么手上还有手表呢？

如果没猜错的话，这图中围的是 貂皮 吧，我妈也有一件，曾问我好不好看，那时候大概是十几年前的事儿了，那时候我因为看过一部 公益环保偏向左派 且当时的贴吧里“疯传”的一部片子，所以当即对她说，买个假的就好，不要买真的，很残忍的，我妈说，你想什么的，这就是假的。。。。我 : 哈哈哈哈哈~

虽然你对日本的精神状态比较觉得没有纳粹威风，但其实这是不同的风格，在战场上长期以来对敌人的震撼和施加的恐惧是很大的，你看太平洋美军的回忆录就知道了。在战争后期，希特勒还说过一些在日本民族面前很自卑的话，在察觉到自己国家的投敌者越来越多，而日本人还在自发搞万岁冲锋，都不用政委监督的时候。

以前红色中国的宣传是董存瑞炸碉堡，黄继光堵枪眼，还有些谁拿着身体把战马推出铁轨自己被火车撞死，赖宁牺牲保护国家财产等等等等，这些事情真假难辨，但是他们都有一个价值观，
这和家长打小孩叫小孩脱光衣服有什么相同的价值观？
那就是对生命个体，对身体的践踏，身体和生命只不过是完成“革命”人物的一个螺丝钉，随时可以被替换，只是一个工具而已，而工具都是有价格的，可能昂贵程度还比不上身体外面的衣服，或者说被保护的”国家财产”，那些飞机汽车等等。 而身体和生命都只是螺丝钉一样的价值，裸体，被打的性唤起带来的羞耻感等等这些感情，精神的元素那更是遥不可及的奢侈品：连被精神依附的肉体都被挥霍如煤矿，对人的尊重和体面根本就没有出现在认知范围。 （我觉得这一句解释了糟糕的发型吧？）
（你听说过中苏边界冲突的时候，中国方面不要命了，牺牲士兵也要拿到坦克的指令么？那个时候苏联已经”修正主义”了，”革命”也”变质”了，开始搞妥协主义开始搞和资本主义共存了，开始提人性，要命不要坦克所以撤退了）
这么一比较，某些家长通过任何方式施压小孩而取得学习成绩显得的逻辑如此的理所应当。
